Under the dark, ominous skies, my friends carried on with their typical life as if it was a normal day. However, I felt something a tinge of unusual feeling and was in the dumps. Nothing had interested me, none of the extremely hilarious jokes that my friends made up made me chortle. What is so strange was that I had exactly no reason to feel dejected. Not a single teacher had given me a tongue-lashing nor my friends have rebuffed me. It was just like the feeling of sadness clung onto me tight, not letting me escape.

Fang Jie, my best friend put it down to me being moody and left me alone. I might have be seen as the one slighting my friends. I had recalled that this morning I had to drag myself at 5.30am. Normally, getting out of the bed would not be a problem for me, however, this morning I felt very sluggish, something that I would feel over new year when I had eaten too much. However, I had not eaten too much the day before. I endured for the final two lessons before dashing out of the classroom door and heading home.

However, when I reached home, I was startled that my mum was at home. She usually works till around 5.30pm and it was not even her day off. I started to ponder over the reason her being inside the house. After a couple of minutes, I gave up trying to think through the millions of possibilities and sauntered towards the refrigerator to grab a snack.

Suddenly, I heard a sound of someone sobbing reverberating through the entire apartment. I could tell it came from my parents' room and immediatedly jogged there. There, alone laid my mother. Tears trickled down her cheeks. Being curious, I inquired," Your grandmother has just passed away this morning." I stood rooted to the ground, totally dumbfounded. My grandnother and I had a closely-knitted relationship and she used to take care of me when I was young. She meant the world to me and now, she was dead. I bit my lips as a rim of tears developed in my eyes. I knew some parts of me had known this was going to happen all day but I just could not understand the message it is trying to deliver. This is the most unusual and the saddest day of my entire life.

Have you ever thought what it is like to enjoy a special moment with you family? Well, read on and you will realize how enjoyable it is like to be with you family.

Every week, Sunday would be reserve for "family bonding time". Today was no exception. I jumped out of bed as soon as my alarm clock rang. Today, my family decided to go shopping at Orchard Road as a celebration of my younger brother’s birthday.

We left the house at around 10am, all filled with excitement, to avoid the heavy traffic(you know how Singapore traffic is like). Little did we know that the roads were already packed like sardines(we should have left at 9, hahas).

When we reached the shopping centre, we had a problem. Most of the lots were taken up and it seems like no one was coming out. We had to wait for a while. When we got into the car park, we started looking for parking lots. After a while, we were lucky enough to find a parking lot soon as some people were heading home after shopping and but for us, it was the opposite.

Right at the moment we stepped foot into the shopping mall, we were greeted by shoppers young and old. I nearly “died of suffocation” trying to make my way around.

We ate scrumptious food while walking around, “browsing” the shops. Even though it was exhausting, it was all worth it just to spend a little bonding time with my family, sharing what had happened to each of us during the week at the same time.

We walked and kept on walking. None of us took notice of the time. Time really does “fly” when you spend time with your family. It was already 7 p.m.! We decided to have dinner at the steamboat restraint ‘Coca’ we ordered many mouth-watering food. My mouth was practically “flooding”.

After the heavenly meal, we decided to get a present for my brother. We knew that he LOVED Hot Wheels cars, so we decided to get him a new set(I still don't get why he is so obsessed with cars).

After buying my brother's present at ‘toys r us’, we decided to head home as we had to go school tomorrow.

Such moments may not be extravagant, but a simple family bonding session will always be looked forward to.

Personally, I will take this as one of my most special moment I have ever enjoyed with my family.

Normally, I could sleep as long as I want during Saturday, however I had extra Co-Curricular Activities trainings as the Air Rifle competition was imminent, with merely a month left. I dashed to the nearby bus-stop and waited for bus '31' to arrive. I sat at the bench waited for ages and to my bewilderment, the bus had not reached. I took a glance at my watch and was shocked to find out that I would soon be late! I simply could not imagine how my teacher would reprimand me. I had been late for just ten minutes before and she sent me to the discipline master.

I got fed-up and tried to hire a cab. Strangely, there was no taxi passing by this road. Finally after waiting for ten minutes, I spotted a taxi. I was about to flag for it when a scrawny teenager ran ahead of me and took the taxi. I clenched my fist in anger and shouted, "What a typical Singaporean!" He pretended that I was oblivious to the surroundings and got in the taxi. Not wanting to wait any longer, I fished my handphone from the recesses of my pocket and was about to dial for a taxi. To my dismay, my phone has died down.
Suddenly, I thought of something I had never done in my life before - hitch-hiking. Besides, if I took any types of transport now, I would have already been late. Isn't it better to be late than never? If I skipped the training, I knew that the teacher would give me a tongue-lashing ten times worse! I stood by the curb and tried hitch-hiking and immediately a car stopped by to help. I was totally dumbfounded as I had not thought that I could get help with my first try and also, my perspective of Singaporean metamorphosed.

The kind soul was a tall, middle-aged man. He questioned, "Where are you heading to?" I told him the name of my school and he drove me there. When he reached my school, I offered him ten dollars but he kindly rejected it. I thanked him and got out from his car. I bolted towards my air-rifle range and saw an irate lady tapping her foot against the floor. She glared at me like a rabid Rottweiler, with eyes as livid as coals, ready to consume and obliterate everything in their path. Baring her teeth in an ugly snarl, she hissed, "You are late for half an hour!" I told her the gist of what happened and miraculously, she believed me. I immediately ran to my assigned lane and flickered a smile after reminiscing of what had happened earlier on.

After thinking for a few days, I finally came out with my resolutions for 2010.

So, resolution for 2010,
-Get a MSG(Mean Subject Grade) of 2
-Achieve a good result so I can get into the 4 years IP program
-Achieve something for VS Shooting Team
-Get better in sports

Hope I can achieve all this by mid of this year:)

Monday blues hit the class once again. Many of my classmates looked sleepy as many of them (I guess) had watched a late night show or was busy trying to finish their homework at the last minute. We started the day slow with a “continued” class discussion from last Friday on things like class logo, motto, T-shirt etc. It wasn't really interesting. The class was very rowdy with people all over the place either chatting or lazing around doing nothing, not really listening to the Class Committee members (typical). I spent my time talking with Calvin as we found the discussion boring (Sorry!).

During CDE periods, my class discussed about what were our strengths and weaknesses and how we could overcome our greatest weakness. Some of the jokers said that being handsome was strength, making the class roared in laughter. We watched an inspiring, touching video on this man born without limbs and how he lived his life. His name is Nick Vujicic. He had no limbs but could do things that people without limbs could not do. His perseverance to do things people like him could not do touched me deeply. Thus, I felt that that video taught me to persevere and never give up on any problems we encounter.

English, Biology and Literature periods followed after that. We wrapped up the topic “Movement of Substances” (One of the most boring topics in Bio, I find. You should know which the most anticipated chapter in Sec 2 Bio to boys:D). Literature was very boring to me as the book itself was difficult to study and I was very tired and it was the end of the day.

After lunch, we had 3rd language lesson (Bahasa Indonesia). During my 3rd language lesson, we played the game Scrabble. It’s the first time we played this game in another language. Due to my very weak Bahasa Indonesia vocabulary, I could not really come out with word and tried forming weird words. Most of the time I was trying to copy my friends’ words. It got worse when we had to continue adding words onto the board as I was not very good in the language. Haiz… Next, we were asked to form sentences out of these words. This, to me, was a major problem. I had to ask my friends and we thought of all ways to form sentences and came out with random or meaningless sentences. Joke! We were asked to present our sentences in front of the whole class. My joker friends came out with sentences like: My mum suddenly mutated and her chest changed colour. We laughed our hearts out but for me, I laughed till I cry. That concluded the lesson on a light note.

Okay, I need to get some beauty sleep now. I have been sleeping at midnight for the past week as there was a lot of homework. Really lacking of sleep!!! It has been a tiring day. Bye! Promise to post soon! I will try to post the video on Nick Vujicic, hope you would find it meaningful.

Hi guys!!! It's me again. Wow. It sure was a long day for me today.

Every Sunday, I would always be busy. Today is no exception. In the morning, I had to go for swimming at 8. I am training for life-saving as I want to attain the certificate to be a lifeguard.
After that, I would meet my mum at Tampines Mall(also known as TM). We would then wait for my brother to finish his piano lesson at YAMAHA and then have lunch at the food court on the top level. We would then head home to pack our bags for art lessons(for my brother as i never liked art) and tuition(for me). During my tuition lesson, i learnt more about New York City(NYC) and my teacher, Mr Mark Lu, showed us many interesting videos(I will try to post it if i can find them on youtube). After tuition i went to my maternal grandmother house to print some notes sent by Mr Thiru, my history teacher. We would then have dinner out at the nearest hawker centre at abput 5(my maternal family eats very early). I would always order for my favourite dish!!! Chicken rice!!! After dinner, we bid farewell to my grandmother and aunts and head for home. Now my family is packing the groceries they bought from the supermarket when my brother and i were at lessons that's why i have the time to write this now.
Anyway, my family is ready to go out again to go to my paternal grandmother house. That's for today. Got to go. Bye!!! Will try to write again when i'm free.

Hey there people, this is my first post of the many that will follow up soon. To me, this year, 2010, is a very important year as if i do not get into IP, i have to do well to choose the subject combination I want. I hope that i will be able to fulfil this targets of this year.
